Some SCSI device drivers report incorrect geometry for media in partitioned removable devices (such as ZIP drives). In addition to some of the media space being unusable, the Logical Volume Manager (LVM) considers the partitions on the media to be corrupt, and media prepared on non-SCSI attached devices may not be readable.
