Subscribed Newsgroup listing
The Subscribed Newsgroup view shows a listing of newsgroups
that you have subscribed to.
When you choose "Go to Newsgroups" from the "Directory menu" for
the first time you will probably be presented with a listing
that looks like this:
Subscribed Newsgroups
(number of new articles) name of newsgroup
The message "Could not open a News RC file" is shown if you have
never subscibed to a newsgroup before. After you have subscribed to at least
one newsgroup the message will be replaced by a listing of the newsgroups
that you are subscribed to.
If you already know the name of a group that you want to subscribe to
type in a newsgroup name
in the text entry field to the right of "Subscribe to:" and press return.
If you don't know the name of any newsgroups don't worry you will also
have the oportunity to subscribe to groups within the
"Newsgroup Listing" view.
After you have subscribed to several groups your "Subscribed Newsgroup"
listing may look similar to this:
Subscribed Newsgroups
(number of new articles) name of newsgroup
The number in parenthesis to the left of the newsgroup name represents
the number of unread articles contained within the newsgroup.
Clicking on any of the selectable newsgroups will take you into the
"Newsgroup Listing" view for that article.
Marking the checkbox to the left of the newsgroup name and pressing the
"Unsubscribe from selected newsgroups" button will unsubscribe
you from the group or groups selected and remove them from the listing.
Pressing the "View all newsgroups" button will show a listing of
all available newsgroups on your server. Note that your server may
not carry all available newsgroups and may contain only a subset
of all the newsgroups available world wide.
