1. Download the DCA disk from the sun sight.

     http://soldc.sun.com/support/drivers/dca_diskettes/

Don't use the FCS version, I don't know what it is. Use the updated DCA from Solaris' web site because it may contain fixes for the install.

(Step 1  is recommended, however I didn't use it - I used  the Solaris Software disk 1 of 2 as my DCA and it worked fine...)

2. Download the DU disks from the Compaq website.

        The softpaq number is sp14289.exe and is accessible at the ftp site. The direct link to that softpaq is ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp14001-14500/sp14289.exe

(These drivers ARE NECESSARY TWICE DURING THE INSTALL once at the beginning and again after the disk 1 of 2 is finished...)

3.Have the Solaris disks available.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Using Smart Start, erase the system, set up your array if installed and select "other " for an operating system.
1. Boot Solaris with Configuration Assistant Diskette or with
Solaris 8 Software/WebStart CD.
I used Solaris Software disk 1 of 2
2. When the Configuration Assistant screen is displayed, choose the
F4 option (F4_Add Driver)
3. When the 'Install Supplemental Drivers' screen is displayed,
remove the Configuration Assistant diskette (if it is used to
Boot Solaris) and insert the CPQary8.220 Driver Update diskette.
4. Press F2_Continue.
5. At this stage, the smartii driver is loaded from the diskette
into the memory.
6. You can also add other drivers through the corresponding DU
diskettes at this stage. Once all the required drivers are added
remove the DU diskette from the diskette drive and reinsert the
Configuration Assistant diskette (if it is used to Boot Solaris)
and press F4_Done.
I loaded all 4 disks and drivers
7. The Identified Device Drivers screen is displayed.
8. Press F2_Continue. Continue with the installation process of
Solaris Operating System.
Make sure you select the GUI install and do the test to verify your video settings!!
9. At the end, the installation program prompts you to insert the
CPQary8.220 DU diskette again.
10. Reinsert the CPQary8.220 DU diskette.
11. Press Enter to continue.
12. Following is displayed while successfully installing the CPQary
package.
Installing package CPQary
Compaq Array Controller
(i386) VERSION=1.1.1, REV=2000.01.26.02.20
Copyright 2000, Compaq Computer Corporation. All Rights Reserved.
Installation of <CPQary> was successful.
13. Remove the diskette from the diskette drive.
I reloaded all 4 disks and drivers...again just to be sure.
14. Follow the instructions prompted by the Solaris Installation
Program.
Once loaded, run the fsck just to check the load.
