When I'm in G-Mod making these comics, I generally get lots of "coverage", that is, I take lots of pictures of each setup from different angles and at different distances, so I have some stuff to work with in the "editing room." If I need to add or subtract dialogue I'll have wider or tighter shots available, and it lessens the chance of having to go back into G-Mod and repose and reshoot anything. Sometimes there's a drawback to this, such as when multiple shots of the same panel turn out nicely. Then, I have to decide which one to use. Blowing up stuff in Half-Life 2 usually results in some great pictures. (Warning: Full-size screenshots ahoy). Decisions, decisions, decisions, decisions. Then there's this shot. I don't know if that's ragdoll blood shooting out into the camera or what, but it's weird. Haven't seen that happen before. I did the explosions using the HL2 Deathmatch "SLAM" mines, and they blow up every so lovely. I first tried the G-Mod dynamite, which is nice because you can set a timer, but they blow up in a poof of black smoke and not the glorious bright flash the SLAMs do.
