No notes today. Too tired. I've been on extended duty this week; doing my regular job, the comic, and covering my friend's blog over on Wired's website while he's been at E3 -- plus, I made the foolosh mistake of buying Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion the other day. So, I've been spending a lot of time building an extra room on my house to store the 759,000-yard Best Buy receipt, plus I've been playing the game a bit, too.

I've probably only played it for about three hours or so total, but I'm totally enthralled with Oblivion. I can't even figure out why. It runs real choppy on my machine, it looks like ass since I have to turn my settings way down, and I'm not very good at it. And, all I've really done so far is killed a bunch of rats in a sewer and gotten arrested for breaking into a store at night and stealing a few things (not even anything good: after picking the lock on a trunk, the treasure inside turned out to be a couple lockpicks.)

Still, there's something really captivating about it. From what I understand, it's very free-form. You have quests and side-quests but you don't have to dive headlong into them, you can just muck about on your own, and I dig games like that. Plus, I've enjoyed the small amount of first-person combat I've experienced, and I've been wanting to get into a single-player RPG. So far, I'm very impressed with the game.

Okay, seeya Monday!
