It seems like a good way for a small ISP to allow customers to dial in with another ISP and still send mails through its mailservers (e.g. to keep the company's domain name in the FROM address). Are there any other techniques to identify valid SMTP requests while not opening a public mail relay? I know of POP-before-SMTP but have no idea how to implement this using TCPware's POP3 and MX. I have many mailing lists located on the sou= rce location (MicroVax), and pretend to move them to the AS800. We pretend to evaluate the MXV051-A by the which includes a free 30-day evaluation license which is automatically registered during installation.= Is posible to move the mailing lists from a MXV4.2 to MXV051-A?, if so what do I need to do? Any comments are appreciated, thanks in advance! After installing and configuring MX on the new system, go back to your old system and create an MCP command file for setting up the mailing lists with: MCP> SHOW LIST/COMMAND/OUTPUT=file-spec Take the resulting file and execute it in MCP on the Alpha: MCP> @file-spec Then copy over all of the files in MX_MLIST_DIR: on the old system to the new system. Once those files are in place, do an MCP> RESET on the new system, and the mailing lists should be available there. -Matt -- Matthew Madison | MadGoat Software | PO Box 556, Santa Cruz, CA 95061 USA madison@madgoat.com http://www.madgoat.com
