How big a need depends on how expensive of course. I've considered getting some of those that run on standalone PC's and running it through on the way out of MX. Just hate to create yet-another-PC-server out there. I suspect one dilemma is that to be viable as a general purpose tool it must change rapidly to keep up, and with a small market like MX that doesn't seem likely. But I'd sure love one. Rampage has its=20 own mail foreign protocol, so pages can be sent by specifying: rampage%pagername as the=20 address in vms mail. I'm not sure how to configure MX on the rampage system so that=20 tcpip users on the network can send pages. With an essentially standard generated=20 configuration (automatic percent-hack is disabled), the address smtp%"rampage=20 pagername" fails in the local path with:=20 Final Recipient: x-local; rampage%pagername Diagnostic code x-local; record not found Mail sent from other tcpip nodes fails in the same way. Is there any way I can get the MX local path to correctly deliver this? I think I can probably figure out how to use the site path to do this, but I'd like to do it in the most straightforward way. Sorry if this type of question is a FAQ, I haven't been able to find anything searching=20 old messages though. For example, create an alias "Pagername", like this: MAIL> set forward/user=3DPagername rampage%pagername It doesn't matter that "Pagername" doesn't exist in the UAF. Then, people sould send to "Pagername@yoursystem.yourdomain". MX would accept the message, see that "Pagername" was a local address and deliver it there. The forwarding would then send it on to the pager. I haven't tested this, but I believe it would work. --=20 Brian Tillman =20 Smiths Aerospace 3290 Patterson Ave. SE, MS 1B3 Grand Rapids, MI 49512-1991 Brian.Tillman is the name, smiths-aerospace.com is the domain. =20 I don't speak for Smiths, and Smiths doesn't speak for me. ****************************************** The information contained in, or attached to, this e-mail, may contain= confidential information and is intended solely for the use of the= individual or entity to whom they are addressed and may be subject to= legal privilege.
