We would like to use forward and reverse name mappings in all our mail addresses like in PMDF so that 1) All outgoing mail from username XX will go out to the Internet as from First.Last@host.domain, and 2) mail addressed to First.Last@host.domain will be delivered to username XX's mailbox. Can this be done with MX? Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks. -- mahendra ......................................................................... A. At issue is we plan to have both internet mail coming in/out, and also mail between an internal exchange server and VMS. The latter will be more widely used and for less knowledgeable people than the former. I would like to keep the headers on the internet messages; they are awfully useful when something goes wrong. I would like to get rid of the headers on the messages between our two internal systems, since reading them in VMS with VMS mail, even at the bottom, confuses many people. This was quite effective with PMDF and I never regretted them being absent from selective messages. I don't see any obvious way to do this in MX 5. Is there? Distantly related question - anyone done anything to more nicely integrate Exchange and VMS mail, such as writing some utilities to import VMS mail .DIS lists into exchange distribution lists, or VMS users into custom recipients? Some of it seems straightfoward to do, but would rather not reinvent the wheel if something is floating around. But today I got another message. Since this email address will go away in a few days, I just wanted to save you some bounced messages and get properly removed from the list. So dummy list-user question: how do I remove myself? Thank you and thank you all for all your good ideas over the past year! Special thanks to Matt and Hunter for all the hard work you put in! Entries in with "origin unknown" and CANCELLED status are generally created when someone starts to enter a mail message but aborts it part of the way through.
