Send your documents to the printers of friends, co-workers, and partners as easily as you send documents to your own printer and the receiver can retrieve the hard copy from their local printer. They do not need to print the document themselves. The document quality is significantly higher than a fax, and, depending on your Internet connection, the speed is faster.

How to download and install

  1. On the Product Updates page, select the check box next to Internet Print Service.
  2. Click the Download button at the top of the page.
  3. Follow the instructions on your screen.
Windows Update downloads and installs Internet Print Service.

How to use

After you install the client, perform these steps:

  1. In your Web browser, type the URL of the Internet Printer to which you would like to send your document (you may have to ask your Administrator for this information).
  2. Once you are connected, under the Printer Actions area, click Connect. The Printer driver is then installed on your computer.

You are now ready to start printing.

Note: In order to send documents to an Internet Print server, the server requires Windows 2000 as its operating system.
