The Windows Virtual Private Networking Update is designed to work with Windows 95 if the Windows Dial-up Networking 1.3 has been installed. This update improves Virtual Private Networking stability.

System Requirements
Windows 95 This update will only install on Windows 95 systems that have installed the Dial-Up Networking 1.3 Update.

Recommended:

  • Intel Pentium processor (or compatible)
  • 90 MHz 16 MB RAM
  • Windows-compatible modem

How to download and install
If you are using version 3.x of Microsoft Internet Explorer and you choose "Run this program from its current location" instead of "Save this program to disk", you may get an Authenticode error message. You should click Yes to continue installing this update. To avoid this error in the future, choose "Save this program to disk", or upgrade to Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later.

Preparing your system:

  1. During the installation process, you will be asked to restart your computer. For this reason, make sure you save your work and exit all applications (except Internet Explorer) before beginning.
  2. Click the Download button at the top or bottom of the page.
  3. Follow the instructions on your screen.

How to uninstall
Uninstall instructions are included in the DUN40.DOC file installed with this update. The DUN40.DOC is copied to the System folder under the Windows install folder (typically C:\Windows).
