April 2000 Update. This Storage Supplement addresses 1394 storage issues on systems with 1394 storage peripherals running Windows 98 Second Edition.
The update installs a Safe Removal utility that allows you to safely stop a Plug and Play storage device prior to physically unplugging the device. This component also includes an update for 1394 drivers to resolve issues related to the surprise removal of peripheral devices.
Large performance improvements, in the order of 300%, have been made over the implementation of
1394 storage drivers in Windows 98 Second Edition.

NOTE: This component updates your system files and will require you to restart your computer to complete the install. Please save your work and close all open applications before installing.
- Click the Next button at the top or bottom of the page.
- Follow the instructions on
your screen.

When prompted, restart your computer to complete the install.
How to uninstall
NOTE: Please save your work and close all open applications before attempting to uninstall this component. You will need to have your original Windows 98 Second Edition CD available to uninstall this component.
- Click Start, point to Find, and click Files or Folders.
- Search for 242975UN.INF.
- Once this file is displayed, right-click on the file and choose Install.
