Set your Internet connection properties
Windows Me is designed to get you on the Internet fast. This means, among other things, that whenever you open an application that requires an Internet connection (such as a browser or e-mail program), your computer should automatically connect to the Internet if you're not already connected.
Here's how to make sure that happens.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Click the Dial-Up Networking icon.
- Right-click your Internet connection (or your primary Internet connection if you have more than one) and then click Properties.
- Click the Dialing tab. Make sure This is the default Internet connection is selected, and then click Always dial my default connection.
