Mirroring of root with LSM

Is there a way to mirror the root directory under LSM?

We are using LSM 1.1 under OSF 3.0. The only mirroring that we were able to
implement for our systems, is something under cron that dd's the root every
day with a few minor ajustments to be able to reboot right away if we get a
problem with the root disk.(/usr and the swap are on LSM volumes.)

In the documentation for the beta release of LSM 1.1 (was 2.0) there was mention
of the root partition under LSM, but these were removed for the official release
1.1. The strategy seemed: To have a boot partition AND a root partition which
was on an LSM volume. Why was this removed?

So far it doesn't seem to be supported. Anyone from DEC out there can tell me
if it will be supported in the near future. What will 3.2 bring us for LSM.

When will 3.2 be shipped?

And to all of you out there using LSM for mirroring, what do you do for the
root filesystems?
