You've probably already been told, but all you need to do is run newaliases.
Are you running BIND? If so, you'll also need to add the alias in
/etc/namedb/src/hosts, then cd to /etc/namedb and do a "make". This
will allow people who don't share your hosts file to find the alias.

If you're not running BIND, you might want to consider doing so. Do a
"man bindsetup".
