use of NIS netgroups in hosts.{equiv,lpd}

Hi all,

I posted a message about configuring a printserver on a Alpha2100 OSF/1 v3.0
earlier, after a little more probing I've run into another problem...
I included an entry in the /etc/hosts.equiv for a NIS netgroup that
includes our locally trusted hosts [+_at_friendhosts] however it doesn't seem
to work for print spooling [or rlogin], listing individual host names does
work [major hassle]. I know on my OSF/1 v1.3 system that netgroups weren't
supported in hosts.equiv but I thought that had been fixed by v3.0. is my
assumption wrong or am I just misconfiguing something?

also I couldn't find any documentation on /etc/hosts.lpd format. is it
supposed to accept NIS netgroups or just host names [I imagine it's the
latter]?

thanks again!
