Thanks to all who answered !
My original "posting" :
Is there a mean to reduce the reserve for /usr from 10% to 1% without
copying data back and forth with an ancilliary disk
First, the problem only occurs with versions strictly oldest than 2.0 :
tunefs is under /sbin in OSF 3.0 (Andrew Gallatin <gallatin_at_isds.Duke.EDU>)
no problem too for ola (<ola_at_ey.se>)
also ok under version 2.0 (Wolfgang Zweimueller <wzwei_at_tcs.co.at>)
For those who had still machines under OSF/1 version 1.3 or less 8-( :
Benoit Maillard (<benoit_at_fgt.dec.com>) suggest a clever trick, the scope of
which extends beyonds my little problem :
1) Perform initial installation of root partition as always
2) Boot from CD (instead of newly created root)
3) System management option (3)
4) Mount the newly craeted root partition
5) Check that . is in first place in .profile (and do not forget to put it
last or away after, since it is *UNSECURE* ;-)
6) Edit a script under / (eg newfs) which just makes the call to newfs with
the required option -m xx
This should work with other commands too and allows for install customization
Best regards, think I will move to 2.1 anyway or wait for 3.2,
