I too had the same problems using advfs over ufs. For that reason, I have
decided to stick with ufs until the utilities get better. There may be
a way to make it work but I havent had time to get around to it ... like
so many things :) If you like, you are welcome to a copy of my backup
script I use to backup 5 OSF/1 stations (soon to be 7). We have a
single TZ87 that can handle it all. Only the workstation that has the
tape drive physically attached (mine) has "advfs" since I was wanting to
learn about it.
If you find out anything on how to remotely backup advfs, I too would
like to know.
