  The solution is quite simple. The "SCSI CAM Layered Components for DEC
OSF/1 V2.2" subset on the OSF/1 layered products CD has the necessary
software to support eraseable optical device types. Following a kernel
rebuild and after building the necessary device files, the Sony drive
works flawlessly.
