PROGRAMMER POSITIONS AVAILABLE

University of Massachusetts Amherst
Department of Computer Science

The Computer Science Department's Research Computer Facility develops
and maintains state-of-the-art computing capabilities in support of the
Department's academic and research missions. Two staff assistant
positions are available in the group.

Associate Software Specialist

Responsible for user support of Macintosh, PC, and UNIX system software
and applications for the Research Computer Facility's 400
multi-platform computing environment. This includes support of
application software, user configurations, updating software,
documentation, and training.

Qualifications: B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent in experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience preferred:
 Macintosh, PC and/or UNIX system administration, script programming.
Networking and programming experience would be a plus. Reference

Software Specialist

Responsible for UNIX system administration, to include software
installations, updates, and maintenance to support the Research
Computer Facility's 400 multi-platform computing environment.

Qualifications: M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent in experience.
Experience required: UNIX system administration, shell script
programming, C, X11, TCP/IP, DECnet. MAC and PC experience would be a
plus. Reference Search R35338.



Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Includes a
