You sound like you're trying to build top! If that's true, then you
should look for the latest version of top (I can't at all remember the
version number) which no longer contains #include <pte.h> line. However,
I once changed #include <pte.h> to #include <pt.h> and it actually worked!
But still, I'd stick with the new version.
