Hi managers
A few day ago, I asked if anyone knows where the orange book is located
and how much additional work has to be done on a system running
C2 security. This I have to know to suggest our chief if we change
to Kerberos.
The orange book is aviable on several FTP Sites e.g.
ftp.csn.org/pub/security/security-primer/src/orange-book.tex
csrc.ncsl.nist.gov/pub/secpubs/std001.txt
It seems, that the additional work for a running C2 System is not very high.
The C2 tools ease many of the pains. The primary work is in the planning
phase, to configure auditing, place logfiles etc.
There is a possibility that you have to custum scripts and binary code, if
they interact with the auditing and password files. This is different under
C2 security.
