keyboard alternative for LK421-AA

Hi there,
A while ago somebody asked for an alternative to replace the cheap LK421-AA
keyboard.
 
Unfortunately a summary was never posted.

I am looking for a keyboard with the feel of the old IBMs. It
doesn't have to be a plug & play solution - a solder and replace chip
solution will be okay.

Since I can't imagine that there is anybody out there who likes the LK421,
I will post a summary.
