Original Question:
==================
The Dec94 version of the cd labeled DEC OSF/1 AXP Online Documentation Library
has a dir called readme with for files:

cdmaster_index.ps
cdmaster_index.txt
user_guide.ps
user_guide.txt

What tool do I need to use these files? CDA won't look at the .ps files.

...junk deleted...

Answer:
=======
kobig_at_neora.iso.dec.com
-----------------------
Unfortunatley, this is a known problem and those files are simply corrupted
(no line delimiters) on the Dec.94 CD.

Action:
=======
"Rick Murphy" <murphy_at_burfle.dco.dec.com>
-----------------------------------------
Those look suspicously like VMS variable-length records: two bytes of size
followed by `n' bytes of data. Somebody messed up and copied 'em using
`dcp -i' (Image mode) onto the disk master, I'd bet.
I'll be back in the office Friday - I'll get 'em corrected and put up for
anon FTP then. (I can do it sooner if you're willing to send them to me).

Response:
=========
Thanks Rick! I look forward to you putting "good stuff" up for ftp.

Others:
=======
Suggested I use dxvdoc, more, ghostview, xv, emacs, postscript printers,
looking at the paper that came with the cds, and using the tr command to
try to patch them up. And, apparently, older lp cds did not have this
problem, but I'd like to have the latest and greatest.
