My question was regarding the following error:
The user, after retreiving his mail, gets a message like:
Error transmitting your mail. I said:
QUIT
and then the POP server said:
ERR unable to rename maildrop
In summary:
DEC support has said, in essence, this is a bug they have seen. They
are looking into it, and will (hopefully soon) turn it over to Engineering
if they can't find the cause.
Contrary to reports received, this does not seem to impede the user from
using his POP account. New mail is able to be retreived, etc.
About the only other response I got was: either get used to this and other
related problems, or switch to 'popper' or some other BSDI'ish POP daemon.
