Use non-supported disk as root for OSF/1 V3.0?

Hi,

We have a DEC 3000/300 that came with two RZ23L disks. The V3.0 installation
program does not recognize its existence. Is there a way to get around this
so that the installation program would install the root on one of the RZ23Ls
and use the other as swap space? Or would it work to copy the root directory
of an installed system onto one of the RZ23L disks? How about the swap disk?
By the way, how do we create a device file for a device? I would appreciate
your advice.
