PROBLEM:
We have 2 terminal servers (DEC 200s) on a short Ethernet
segment with 2 Alpha 2000/300s: one running VMS, the other OSF/1 3.0.
Neither terminal server picks up the broadcast from the OSF box, and
therefore we cannot connect from any device on the terminal servers to the
OSF box. Service to the VMS box is working fine. (Service to the OSF box
was working until we moved Campus service to these two machines is
available via separate FDDI cards.)
Latcp -d indicates the OSF box is broadcasting; lat has been restarted
several times. DEC Support has spent hours and cannot find anything
improperly configured. The terminal servers provide dialin access via
modems; no off-campus dialin has been available for a week, and frankly,
the natives are growing restless.
Any suggestions or comments would be *greatly* appreciated.
