My original post:
=================
>Wearing my "IBM" hat, one of the best conferences I attend each year is
>called the VM WORKSHOP for IBM VM operating system. This is a workshop that
>is hosted each year by a university and presentations are made by all sorts
>of people in our "group". It has some of the best, down to earth, and job
>related presentations you can get and is a great medium for meeting with
>your peers and creating contacts. All this for a very reasonable price.
>
>Now that I am wearing an "OSF/1" cap more and more, I would like to find
>a similar conference to attend in dealing with unix system management
>or even better OSF/1. Does anyone have anything to recommend??? or
>Can this be the start of something new :)

Summary:
========
The workshop suggestions included:

    DECUS (http://www.decus.com)
           Next conference: May 6-11, 1995 Washington, DC
                             Dec 2-7, 1995 San Francisco
                             Jun 1-6, 1996 St. Louis
           The Unix Systems Special Interest group of DECUS is called
           UNIX-SIG (Mailing List: UNIX-SIG_at_DECUS.Org)

    LISA (http://www.usenix.org)
      (Large Installation Systems Administration) organized by USENIX/SAGE.
           Next conference: Sep 18-22, 1995 Monterey CA.

While I know about DECUS and have attended one (last year), it did not
quite hit home for me and my needs. It is almost too big and impersonal
to suit me. It looks like the LISA conference is better suited for us
alpha-osf-managers ... now if I can only convince my manager :)

Finally, the http pages are well worth keeping around.
