My copy of OSF/1 v3.2 just walked in the door, and the "Read This First" document
has me somewhat puzzled. It describes the contents of the full media kit and the
software update kit. As one might expect, the full media kit has a couple of CDs
not included in the software update kit.
However, it says that the the software update kit includes the ECU v1.7 diskette,
but the full kit doesn't! In fact, the contents of the kit match the description
(i.e. there's no ECU diskette in the full media kit).
This seems odd. If one needs the stuff found on the ECU diskette, then why isn't
it included in the full kit? And if it isn't needed, why bother including it in
the (otherwise less complete) software update kit. I'm confused ...
