Summary large scsi drives in Storage Works

I asked whether 9gb drives could be utilised in Alpha 1000 storageworks
by buying carriers.
Thank you for prompt replies.
There was one vote for going via RAID controller but most replies
pointed out that the 9gb devices required a 5.5 ins FF so would take
up 3 slots in the storageworks cabinet per disk. A
better solution might be 4gb with a 3.5 ins ff (3 * 4
= 12 which is > 9)
Another solution suggested locally was to use 9gb but
put two of them in the top right hand corner of the
cabinet rather than in the storage works - no hot swap but apparantly
useable.
