Hello OSF'ers!
A touch of background...in case any of it's relevant.
I have a relatively new AXP 3000-600 on which I now need to
install additional software. On another system, which has a CDROM
drive, I've had no trouble, but on this system, I plan to take
advantage of the fact that we are a member of DEC's TEI program,
so I am able to grab the software kit from a remote site where the
CDROMs are mounted.
Basically, I FTP the component parts, and then the contents of
the "instctrl" directory, and hope that I can "setld" pointing to
the directory where I put the kit and the "instctrl" directory.
I went to install and setld choked. I find, however, that it
won't even allow "setld -i" to inventory the system. The
response (to _any_ setld command) is:
[22]-tom1> setld -i
/usr/sbin/setld: getopt: not found
setld:
Setld Usage Examples:
Send a configuration message to an installed subset:
setld [-D dir] -c subset message
Delete subset(s):
setld [-D dir] -d subset [subset ...]
List all subsets:
setld [-D dir] -i
List contents of installed subset(s):
setld [-D dir] -i subset [subset ...]
Display this message:
setld [-D dir] -h
Load layered product from device:
setld [-D dir] -l device [subset...]
Verify integrity of subset(s):
setld [-D dir] -v subset [subset ...]
Extract media images from device for network distribution:
setld [-D dir] -x device [subset...]
setld: error in Args()
and this adds the following to /var/adm/smlogs/setld.log
SETLD 867 root 1995.03.13.16:04:42 error in Args()
SETLD 867 1995.03.13.16:04:42 / - 1
I'm running OSF/1 V2.0 (rev 240)
Thanks (as always!) for all your help!
