As far as I know, LVM never worked very stable. If I remember right, it was
and is buggy, and especially with mirroring data loss (!) was almost
guaranteed. Therefore I appreciate LSM and Advfs - the DECCampus license
makes the licensing costs obsolete for us ;-)
