Hello All

I am having a problem with using the Polycenter Save and Restore software
running on an Alpha 3000-600. I am trying to get a TLZ6L (autoloader) with
4 slots to work with NSR.

I configured the tape jukebox sucessfully using jbm_enabler and it does appear
in the "networker" list of tape jukeboxes.

I believe I have all the necessary licences to use the tape jukebox
functionality, but cannot get the test program "jbexercise" to work properly.

I enter the following command and get this message :-

UNIX>jbexercise -m TLZ6L -c /dev/mc21b -C
jukebox id: 21
options: autoeject element_status
        # #_pairs pairs
drives: 1 1 1
ports: 0 0
slots: 4 1 1-4

then I run the same test with the "-I" switch, this returns an inventory of the
tape jukebox.

UNIX>jbexercise -m TLZ6L -c /dev/mc21b -I
About to exercise the jukebox. There should be
media loaded in the jukebox in the first and last
slots.
Ready to continue(y/n)?y
slot 1: "EMPTY"
slot 2: "EMPTY"
slot 3: "EMPTY"
slot 4: "EMPTY"

I do have blank tape loaded into the first slot on the jukebox, but I do not
know why the above command should report that all the slots are empty.

I have the same probelms even if I use the "networker" interface and try and
label the first tape in slot 1.

I probabaly should order some proper documentation, which may solve my problems,
but any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
