Q: cc hangs on kerberos5b4

I just tried to compile the standard dist of kerberos from mit,
and I ran into a very interesting problem. Everything seemed to
work just fine, untill it go to the md4.c file in the crypto directory,
and then it didn't get any furthere. It didn't complaing about any
errors, it just sat there and ground at the 8k file for about half an hour
before i killed it. a process list revealed that uopt was the active
component at the time.

To get around the problem I thought I'd use the -Ox flag, which was
either going to give an error, or compile it hopefully. As it turned
out a -O2 compiled the object. No word yet on whether or not the object
is corupt or inproperly compiled yet.

Has anyone else experienced this?

As long as we are on the subject, something related, where can i find
all the patches that dec has put out for OSF. preferably ftp or something.
I once ran across a http site (lost the adress, of course :) ), but they
didnt' have the files available to the public; they wanted you to read a 20
page doc on something or other, before you could get the patches.

does anyone know where i can just simply FTP the files without any hassel?
or a number to call to get whatever is required?

thanks in advance

PS: almost forgot, here is the uname -a

OSF1 macross.umsl.edu V2.0 250 alpha
