Hello all,
I have a program that can be used by amanda to control a DEC TZ877 (and
possibly similarly designed units) tape loader on an OSF/1 system. I wrote
it so that I could have the amanda network backup software (highly
recommended! See below) control the loader, freeing our operators for more
important matters. It is available via anonymous ftp from:
pigdog.niehs.nih.gov
in pub/loader-stuff/. Check the README there for the contents of the
various files, but if you are starting from scratch you might as well get
loader-stuff.tar.gz - it includes my code as well as a library of support
routines that make use of /dev/cam to access the loader.
Enjoy,
Ed
(For more information on amanda, you can ftp the latest version from
ftp.cs.umd.edu - look in pub/amanda; amanda-2.2.6.tar.gz is the latest
version presently.)
