Hi,
I have a problem with X authority. I'm using OSF/1 v3.2 now, and it uses
two kind of xdm authorisations: MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE and XDM-AUTHORIZATION.
As I write `xauth list` on my DEC I got sth. like:
alpha:0 XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 f1c03e34f4c513a60027ee54bba16a5a
alpha:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 c0e2ecef3c64dc911546106118e21012
(null)::0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 c0e2ecef3c64dc911546106118e21012
alpha.twins.pk.edu.pl/unix:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 c0e2ecef3c64dc911546106118e2112
alpha:0 XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 f1c03e34f4c513a60027ee54bba16a5a
alpha:0 XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 f1c03e34f4c513a60027ee54bba16a5a
alpha.twins.pk.edu.pl/unix:0 XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 f1c03e34f4c513a60027ee54bba16a5a
but as I do the following:
xauth nextract - alpha.twins.pk.edu.pl:0 | rsh pk-siec.oeto.pk.edu.pl xauth -v nmerge -
and then on pk-siec (it's a Sun running Solaris) `xauth list| grep alpha`,
I got:
alpha.twins.pk.edu.pl:0 XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 f1c03e34f4c513a60027ee54bba16a5a
only. It seems, that Sun doesn't recognize XDM-AUTHORIZATION, because
it says it's not authorised to open alpha.twins.pk.edu.pl:0 display.
When I had OSF v1.3 with MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE only, it worked OK.
The question is:
how to force xauth from alpha to send MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE authorisation data
to another computer (here: Sun)?
TIA for any help.
Grzesiek
