I have a Seagate ST410800N which I *thought* was correctly installed.
At first the drive hung whenever I tried to write a label to it, but
once I finally managed to get a label on the drive it appeared to be
OK.
Anyway. today I tried actually using the drive in anger for the first
time. I created an ADVFS domain and fileset on the disk (all of which
worked) and then copied an existing file system onto the disk. I then
added the new filesystem to /etc/fstab and rebooted.
Now, at the point when the disk is mounted at bootup the system hangs
and some SCSI CAM errors are reported. From here on the system appears
to be dead and only a full power-cycling will reset the SCSI bus.
Has anyone else seen either this or a fix for it?
Thanks,
Ray.
