SUMMARY: firmware level

The original query was:

How can I determine the FlashROM firmware revision level
        from the console monitor prompt?

The SHOW CONFIG command shows this, although rather obscurely, and it
is not documented in the Hardware Reference Guide. The SHOW CONFIG
command produces output something like this:

        DEC 3000 - M300
        Digital Equipment Corporation
VPP PAL blah blah blah ...
Built on 30-MAR-1993 blah blah blah

        TCINFO DEVNAM DEVSTAT
        ------ ------ -------------------------------------
                     CPU OK KN16-AA - Vx.x-Syyy-Izzz - sx.x - ....

The first occurence of the string x.x above is replaced with the firmware
revision level. I discovered this after looking at several machines which
I knew to have different revision levels.

It would be nice if Digital would include a legend for the symbols x.x,
yyy, and zzz in the Hardware Reference Manual.
