GNU emacs 19.25.1 hangs while garbage-collecting.

Hi experts!

I have this funny problem with my emacs. Every once in a while it
hangs when garbage-collecting. I apologize if this isn't a 1000% relevant
to this list, but I think it is. The fenomenon is not repeatable, I have
tried pretty hard. It has happened on one or more 3000/800's and on a 2100,
but not on a 3000/500 or on a 200-4/166. Those machines all run the same
image, compiled and sitting on a (disk on a) 3000/300 where it hasn't happened
either, by the way. And.. the disk (in case that could be of any relevance) is
exported from the 300. All the machines are running OSF/1-3.0.

I have this vague idea also that it might happen more often to 'fast typers', as
if they interrupted the garbage-collection. When it hangs, it simply sits there
and eats all the cycles. Sending signals to the process is either without effect
or it kills emacs.

Any kind of input (me-too's also) is appreciated. Since it is really difficult
to repeat this, I haven't been able to do much of experimenting. I hope that
someone out there has cracked it already....
