OSF-Managers,
Could someone please help me with the problem I have with Polycenter's
Advanced File System on a DEC OSF/1 3.2 Alpha Server. I installed the filesets:
AFAADVANCED300, AFAADVMAN300, AFAADVGUI300 from CD-ROM and key'ed in the NAS200
License license pak.
I tried to setup a single-volume file system using instructions from the
Understanding the File System chapter in the Technical Summary of Polycenter
Advanced File System and Utilities, but had no luck. I typed the following:
newfs /dev/rrz3c
mkfdmn /dev/rz3c users_domain
mkfset users_domain users
mount -t advfs users_domain#users /users
After rebooting the server and exiting single-user mode to bring the system up,
and during the checking local file system phase, I get the message:
THE FOLLOWING FILE SYSTEM HAD AN UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY:
/dev/rrz3c (/users)
Automatic reboot failed, run fsck manually.
Repair filesystem(s), then reboot (/sbin/reboot).
And then puts me back at single user.
Won't allow me to fsck manually. Keeps stating "magic number wrong" message.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Conrad Ribeiro
