The secret is to add -taso to CFLAGS. Do a man "cc" to see exactly what
-taso does. I cannot take the credit for finding this out (my apologies to
not keeping the name of the findee) but another interesting fact is that
considering we are still using an Ultrix - 32 bit environment and slowly
transferring things to DEC Unix - 64 bit environment it is something
possibly well worth keeping in mind.
