Hi again!
Most of the replies recommended me to upgrade to emacs 19.28. Most of
those who replied had seen the same type of hanging in 19.25, but were
liberated from it with the advent of 19.28. There is one odd answer
from Dan Riley _at_ cornell who is telling me that he still sees the
problems in 19.28:

Well, one more comment may be of (possibly somewhat esoteric)
interest. There seem to be no reports of this hanging of 19.25 on the
AlphaStation 200 type of machines, don't ask me why. Except for that,
I think they are all represented. Where I live, they are common enough
that it should have happened a couple of times by now, but nope...
I will upgrade to 19.28 and see what happens.
