Whilst the subject is hot, we have a problem that we could do with some
help on. We currently have our Alphas 'plugged into' a NIS server on
SUnOS 4.1. This server is soon to close and we wanted to switch the
Alphas into our NIS+ domain (using the NIS compatibility mode) running
from our Solaris 2.4 NIS+ server. We simplistically changed the domain,
found that we can see all the maps but then found that we could not log
in using any name in the passwd map from the NIS+ server.
On the NIS+ server the passwords are of course not held in the passwd
map but in the /etc/shadow file.
We need help.
