AMD upl102 & others on DEC Alpha (3.2a) -- serious problems

I'm having serious problems with AMD upl102 on our DEC Alpha running
OSF/1 3.2a. Every several hours it wedges silently and thoroughly,
and the machine has to be rebooted. I've tried older versions of AMD,
and various compilation options. If anyone out there has any version of
AMD running peacefully on this platform, please sent me your Makefile(s)
and os-osf1.h.
