Automounter

I'm (trying) to run the automounter on a pair of Alpha 3900s and a
number of 3300s. All machines are running OSF/1 3.2A. My problem is
that nothing is happening. If I run the NFS setup program and ask it
to run the automounter, I get a message something "Unable to provide
automounter service". If I run automount with the -T or -v options,
it provides no output to the console.
