Thanks for all who response. NQS works good to me.

# Product : Network Queueing System (NQS)
# Subject : Your request for the CERN/NQS software
# File : NQS.INSTALL
# Last update : 21-June-95
#
I prepared a UNIX tar file containing the native version of NQS developed
by Sterling Software Inc. with CERN enhancements. Now there is no more
restriction in the distribution of this product.
This release supports several architectures and systems :
- Apollo (DNxxxx) AEGIS
- Digital (VAX + MIPS + ALPHA) ULTRIX + OSF1
- Hewlett-Packard (HP9000) HP-UX
- Ibm (3090 + RS6000) AIX
- Next () MACH
- Raid (8235) TC-IX
- Silicon Graphics Iris (4D) IRIX
- Sun (SUNx) SUNOS + SOLARIS
If you are interested you can find this software package on SHIFT.CERN.CH in
the directory pub/NQS of the anonymous account. Please follow the sequence :
ftp shift.cern.ch
anonymous
...
cd pub/NQS
get README.nqs
binary
get nqs.tar.Z

Hans Ollaiver:
I have a nice and easy-to-install package...
Pb (portable batch)version 6.
Pb is a batch queue system for Unix computers.
It is easy to install an has been installed on the following platforms:
IBM AIX 3.2.5 (both as BSD and as System V)
HP HP-UX A.09.01
Digital Ultrix 4.4 (RISC)
Digital Unix (OSF/1) 3.1
Solaris 2.3
SunOS 4.1.2
Silicon Graphics IRIX 4.0 and 6.01
You can submit your job (a script file or a command) to a queue for
immediate or delayed execution.(Program pb)
The queues can have time and memory limitations (except for HP-UX)
You can cancel a job, both queueing and running. (Program pbc)
You can watch the contents and setting of a queue. (Program pbq)
You can limit the execution of batch jobs to times when the load at
the system is low. (Currently only implemented for Ultrix Risc and Digital
Unix systems)
This software is freely distributed. That means, you may use it for any
non-commercial purpose, as long as you do not take this message or my name away
from the source code.
The program is available by anonymous ftp from
ftp.sunet.se
File name /pub/unix/utilities/pb.tar.gz
If you send me a mail that you are using this program, I will mail you each
time I find a bug in this package.

Michel Ringenbach:
LSF is a good system. It's easy to install and works fine.
The only hard thing to do is to configure and tune
the batch queues.
We use it whith three DEC 3000/700 in a cluster, but my
opinion is that LSF should be the best for organisations
which have a lot of heterogenious stations, and want to
optimise their ressources. There are a lot of options to
make every individual station manager satisfied.
We will next install LSF 2 which resolves few bugs and
provide interactive and batch accounting.

Yes there ist such a system:
It ist called CODINE. For more information contact

Sid Fagan:
LSF is the best one I've seen, IF your willing to pay money.
There are several free batch systems with source. (DQS, NQS)
Some of the free ones have been improved allready and distributed
too. I.E. like NQS from cern.
