I'm stumped, yet again.
First question. Or more of a confirmation. While you can enable the VGA
port on the motherboard by going into the ECU, enabling the VGA controller,
booting genvmunix and doing a rebuild, all you get is 640x480. The VGA
controller on the motherboard is incapable of doing any better. Is this
true? If so, I'm really wondering why the #%^#^% DEC even bothered to put
such pathetic technology on the motherboard. [I'm not in the best of moods
now, but I'll try to be as polite as possible.....]
Second. There's a modem in these machines, comes standard. As far as I can
tell, it's not configured. Does not show up in ECU. I try to add it, using
the generic OSF modem definition.
It gets hung on asking for the system config disk. WHAT THE BLAZES DOES IT
WANT??? I made a copy of the ECU and even went and did a "dry" save of the
config on it. But it just won't accept anything here. So. How do you make
a system config disk?
I've got far better things to do on a Friday afternoon. Like drive home in
traffic.
Anybody got any answers? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
