caching file systems?

I note with envy that SGI IRIX 5.3 has a caching file system. While
it's true that you can use DCE/DFS on OSF, this requires you buy into
the entire DCE environment.

Does anyone know if a lighter-weight caching file system, or caching
NFS client, will be forthcoming from Digital?
