Hi,
I installed some Turkish fonts from a package, to /usr/local/font directory.
Then typed
mkfontdir /usr/local/font/tr_100dpi
mkfontdir /usr/local/font/tr_75dpi
mkfontdir /usr/local/font/tr_misc
and formed fonts.dir in each of these directories.
After that normally I wanted to add these fonts to my font path and typed,
xset +fp /usr/local/font/tr_100dpi
but belove message is appeared
xset: bad font path. Possible causes are:
Bad path syntax
Missing fonts.dir in any path component
Path component unreadable by X Server
I don't think I made a mistake in path syntax.
fonts.dir also exist.
I don't have any idea about third reason, but all these dirs are
readable for all.
After that,I uncompressed the fonts and made the same things, but no
difference.
Do you have any idea ?
Thanx in advance..
ps* I want to say a few thing about this list. I'm a new sys.admin ( only
1 month ). Maybe since I'm being new, but I had so many prblem with DEC
Alphas. Because almost there is no programme that doesnot have problem
with DEC's in installation . May be the reason is that mostly they are
writen in other systems, but I think this is not normal.. Unfortunately, I
did not have much assistance from DEC ( at least from its Turkiye
representation ). For this reason I started think about DEC in a bad
manner. But a few days ago I investigated that list, and found it very
good. Every body tries to solve the problems and I solved some of my
problems. Thanx for all.
murat.
