UFS/NFS diskquota problem

Hi all,

I don't seem to understand diskquotas on UFS filesystems that are NFS served
(OSF 3.2).

On the system where the disk is physically attached, quotas work just fine.
However, on the system that NFS mounts this filesystem, quotas are just not
known and the behavior when overquota is really bad.

The result of a /usr/sbin/quota user-name on the NFS client:
There are no quotas on this system

When a user is over quota on the server, and does a cp x y on the client,
there is no error reported. But the file "y" has 0 size!

I can't seem to mount -t nfs with an 'rq' option. I've read the man page
on rpc.rquotad which hints that NFS can report on quotas. The inetd.conf
on both systems seems to have rquotad enabled.

Don't know where else to look. Any hints welcome.

                                        thanks,
