emacs19.29

Once again I am attempting to build emacs on an Alpha.
This time it is version 19.29. I am not having any success.

This happens with O/S 3.0 and 3.2

./temacs -batch -l loadup dump
gmake: *** [emacs] Segmentation fault (core dumped)



pms507> dbx temacs
dbx version 3.11.8
Type 'help' for help.

main: 413 int skip_args = 0;
(dbx) r
signal Segmentation fault at [make_pure_string:1143 +0x1c,0x1200e2efc] X
STRING (new)->size = length;
(dbx)


can anybody help.
